Funny story: When you make a water tarot deck…sometimes the universe thinks it would be great fun to burst a pipe above your bedroom on Christmas Eve. You know, cause you like water so much! 😂😭🌊

It was a lot! But we are finally back in our house! It took much longer than we ever expected. One renovation turned into two, then three, etc. And house projects we’d been putting off suddenly took center stage. Like installing a new “old” bathtub in our bathroom.😁

And now it’s time to shift gears to other projects waiting in the wings: turning our old airstream into an art studio; making new art; making a new tarot deck; and starting a project that’s very near and dear to my heart that I haven’t revealed publicly yet….

But here’s a hint: It has to do with a secret garden.🍃🍃🍃💚💚💚

My May Day tradition: hanging baskets on my front

My May Day tradition: hanging baskets on my front doors. I’ve carried this tradition from coastal Annapolis Maryland (where the whole town blooms with May Day baskets like a giant garden party!) to the desert in Arizona and back to the mountains of North Carolina. The two little baskets look right at home on our farmhouse doors!

I am so dang excited to announce that I will be teaching in the SEVENTH YEAR of Pull Pen Paint with @kialagives and an amazing group of other stellar guest teachers.

Pull • Pen • Paint starts in March with a three-day virtual retreat weekend scheduled for March 17-18-19. Registration just opened and Kiala, the curator of this class, already has a lesson or two waiting for you where she teaches you how to make a handmade journal to use during the course.

Pull • Pen • Paint is about learning to listen to your intuition more deeply by connecting to a long list of tools, techniques, and topics. We use tarot & oracle cards, astrology, numerology, human design, poetry, creativity, storytelling, signs, symbols, and systems to strengthen our inner wisdom. We learn to interpret these tools intuitively, journal using our insights, and create from a place of authenticity. Kiala has brought together more than 20 teachers from all walks of life to share their love of journaling, creativity, divination, and self-exploration to uncover the answers that live inside of us. It’s going to be an amazing journey together.

Don’t doubt that the universe has a sense of humor! Just days after I finished The Flow Tarot, the roof over my art room sprung a tiny leak. Fast forward a few months, and it was clear it couldn’t be easily fixed. I needed to move out to begin repairs.

That’s when this little beauty came into our lives! She needs some TLC and renovations - she was apparently at the beach for a good part of her life (my water theme continues!) - but I love a project! Besides who could say no to this beauty?!

This 12-month desk calendar features original watercolors prints of the full moons across the year. The colors follow the spectrum of temperatures and seasonal changes through the year.

These beauties are 5 x 7 - perfect size for wall or desktop. They are printed on thick art paper…so they can easily be repurposed into a moon journals after the month is over!😉😊

I’m so excited to be guest teaching in the Deck Creator’s Mastermind Cycle 7, October 21-23.

If so, then join us Oct 21-23 for the Deck Creator’s Mastermind with @kialagives. It’s a fun-filled, interactive journey through all the ways you can create, publish, market, and sell an oracle, tarot, affirmation, or inspiration deck that you create from your original idea.

In this cycle, I’ll be teaching alongside @otm_academy, @pixiecurio and @jamiesawyer_336. I absolutely could not have made the Flow Tarot without the Deck Creator’s Mastermind. It opened up so many possibilities for me as a deck designer!

As a teacher, I will be sharing my experiences taking my deck from a personal project to a public one; my surprises and stumbles; my experiences setting up and selling on Etsy; and tips on how you can move your deck into the public sphere.
